Strategic people management in Public Accounting
Abstract
Strategic people management in public administration is essential to optimize human resources and improve organizational efficiency. The public sector faces unique challenges, such as excessive bureaucracy, budgetary constraints, and regulatory rigidity, which compromise the attraction, development, and retention of talent. In this context, strategic people management operates in a planned manner, aligning competencies and human potential with institutional objectives. It includes recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and motivation policies adapted to the realities of public service, as well as continuous monitoring of employee performance and engagement. Applying these practices allows us to overcome chronic problems in public administration, such as inefficiency and low productivity, strengthening governance, transparency, and the ability to respond to social demands. Thus, strategic people management emerges as an essential tool for making public service more effective, aligned with society's needs and institutional objectives.
