A AUSÊNCIA DE SANÇÕES INTERNACIONAIS DO BRASIL CONTRA A RÚSSIA NO CONTEXTO DA GUERRA NA UCRÂNIA

Abstract

The present scientific article analyzes the position of neutrality adopted by Brazil in the context of the war in Ukraine, with a focus on the absence of sanctions against Russia. The objective is to understand how this stance relates to the constitutional principles guiding Brazilian foreign policy, the international commitments undertaken by the country, and the economic interests involved. The methodology was based on bibliographic and documentary research, as well as the analysis of international treaties. It is concluded that the absence of sanctions is linked to Brazil’s historical diplomatic neutrality in armed conflicts, as a means of balancing its legal obligations and strategic economic interests.
