This TCC analyzes the impacts of Emergency Aid (AE) on the Brazilian economy in 2020, verifying its effectiveness in meeting the basic needs of beneficiaries. The main objectives are to assess the rate of poverty and extreme poverty, in addition to understanding the economic consequences generated by the creation of this Program. The study is justified by the need to understand how emergency policies can affect the country's economic stability, especially when considering the effects that occur in the short and long term. Throughout this study, economic data will be observed and analyzed that demonstrate the distributions of the Emergency Aid Program that provided financial relief to millions of people. In addition, aspects such as the eligibility criteria for the Program as well as its financing and the impacts it generated on public coffers will be addressed. Although Emergency Aid was a quick and effective response in a time of crisis, when evaluating its sufficiency it is clear that even though it temporarily reduced poverty and extreme poverty, it did not deal with the structural issues that maintain social inequality in Brazil
