The cliffs on the coast of Ceará represent a landform with rupture lines and presence in the landscape on beaches with tourist activities. In view of the changes caused by the occupation of the relief at Morro Branco Beach in Beberibe and Canoa Quebrada Beach in Aracati, a study is presented at the local mapping scale, to highlight the fragilities of the cliffs. In order to analyze the morpho-dynamics of the cliffs in the Barreiras Formation tablelands, maps with vectorization of high-resolution orbital images were produced in the geographic information system QGIS. An increase of approximately 6% was observed in the area of the cliffs in Aracati, and an increase of approximately 11% in the area of the cliffs of Beberibe. In the qualitative analysis, stable environments were found in gullies with the presence of coastal vegetation and strong unstable environments with summer buildings in Canoa Quebrada Beach. The study contributes to the elaboration of mappings at the municipal scale in coastal cities with 55 and 75 thousand inhabitants, with the need for a Master Plan and guidelines to discipline the occupation of the coastal area.
