LOGGING CAUSES, CONSEQUENCES AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES

Abstract

This article seeks to discuss about deforestation, the causes, consequences and preventive measures, so that a paradox is established between the evolution of humanity, but with concern for the preservation of the environment. Discussing deforestation in Brazil creates a direct relationship with the observation of the Amazon Forest, from the perspective of being the aforementioned biome, the most important in the country, being the largest in territorial dimension and considered the “lung of the world”. The impact of deforestation on Brazilian biomes goes far beyond the loss of biodiversity, changing the vegetation cover of a watershed greatly alters the quality of water and the flow regime of water bodies, substantially increasing spending on water treatment for urban supply and in programs to fight droughts and floods. Thus, it has the present as its scope, addressing the causes of deforestation, as well as the impacts and ways to adopt preventive measures.
