The methodology was carried out through research on the topic "agroecology" on the Google Scholar platform and the selection of articles published in recent years, where different reflections were reached in order to propose a discussion that corresponded to the proposed objective. It was observed that the agroecology system is a great supporter of family farming in the country, since this is responsible for 70% of the food supply of the Brazilian population. In this way, the practice of agroecology seeks to promote the approximation of human beings with nature, the use of traditional cultivation techniques, an economy focused on the qualification of small producers, greater rationing of land for planting, plantations without the interference of pesticides, activities responsible for the preservation of flora and fauna, without degrading and polluting the environment.
