The Cerrado is considered one of the world's hotspots for biodiversity, a type of morphoclimatic and phytogeographic vegetation of varied richness of the savanna biome of central Brazil. It covers 2 million km2, representing about 25% of the country. It is formed by the forests of galleries that accompany the watercourses, the forests of the slopes of the mountains, the mato grosso goiano and the tropical forest. It comprises a true mosaic of biodiversity. However, they have been severely threatened by the absence of public policies of the fire, that is, adequate use of fires as a preventive measure for the future of the Cerrado, in which it depends on clear fire management strategies based on experience and scientific knowledge. The Cerrado is highly flammable during the dry season, therefore usually subject to fires. The research was based on the assessment of specific legal provisions, based on doctrinal understandings, knowledge made available on reliable websites, jurisprudence, environmental laws and scientific articles that specifically addressed the topic.
