ESTATUTO DO DESARMAMENTO COMO REDUÇÃO DA CRIMINALIDADE DE HOMICIDIOS PROVOCADOS POR ARMA DE FOGO EM DECORRÊNCIA DE GÊNERO

Abstract

This research is based on the use of firearms in crimes of violence against women, based on Law 10.826/03. It was elaborated with the purpose of showing the high and drastic rate of firearm use in relation to domestic and family violence against women and feminicide. This fact has raised questions about whether the Statute really is effective against this type of violence. As a research methodology, we analyzed homicide rates on research conducted with annual reports on violence. Combining them, we reviewed the bibliography of researches already elaborated to understand the negative and positive aspects about the clearance of firearm possession. We concluded that access to a firearm implies an increase in violence and enhances feminicide.
