APLICAÇÃO DA LEI 10.639/03 E AS POSSIBILIDADES DE (RE)CONHECIMENTO DA BRANQUITUDE

Abstract

The object of the work is Law 10.639 / 03, based on the hypothesis that the application of such legislation can promote the recognition of privileges regarding whiteness, contributing to an anti-racist culture. As a problem, it seeks to reflect the law not only as a basis for ethnic-racial discussions that treat racism as an exclusive adversity for blacks, but also to visualize whiteness: the access, possibilities and advantages that are guaranteed to whites due to the racism. The rule in question is federal and mandatory in educational institutions. The interest in thinking about whiteness is justified: the fact that whites are in the social places of power generates racism, and racism means that only whites are in these spaces. Thus, as it is characterized as a bibliographic research, this study is based on theorists such as Rocha (2006); Munanga and Gomens (2006); Schucmam (2012); Wolton (2006); among others.
