Abstract

Abstract: this article aims to analyze the artistic and stylistic aspects of the epic text from medieval times. For it, we used as object the poem Beowulf; it is from 700 - 800 A.D. The poem is a long poem that shows the beginning of the Literature and English language in England. The text has a unique linguistics ornamentation, which expresses its time and survived the times passed and has reached in modernity, enchanting people who venture to read it. Thus, seeking to disseminate this poem, this article becomes pertinent, because it shows Beowulf's narrative in a magic perspective. The instruments of analysis of this work focus on the literary analysis recommended by the literary theory, exploring its artistic, historical, linguistic and social aspects that make this work, a primordial narrative poem. In this research, some bibliographic sources of poetry theory, literary historiography, among others were so important. Authors such as Borges (2002), Golden and Lapidge (1991), Rosenfield (1986) and Spina (1973), among others, were essential to write this text. In this sense, we hope this article will serve as an instrument of motivation for studies from the medieval period.
