RESOCIALIZATION OF PRISONERS THROUGH EDUCATION AND WORK IN THE PRISON SYSTEM

The purpose of the scientific article is to study the resocialization of prisoners through education and work in Brazil, demonstrating failures committed by the State itself in the prisoner's reintegration phase, as well as the relevance of social reintegration for society, detention and the State. Therefore, the theme is justified given the need to understand the role of education and work within prisons as tools for resocialization exercises, in addition to investing in the training and professional training of inmates, as it not only contributes to reducing criminal recidivism. But also promotes their autonomy, dignity and active participation in society after serving their sentence. However, the importance of education in penitentiaries is mentioned in terms of reducing recidivism; benefits of prison work for the social reintegration of inmates; barriers and challenges in implementing education and work programs in the prison system; and, the improvement of resocialization policies through education and work, both built on the basis of bibliographical research, using legislation, doctrines and scientific articles.
